Troop 2 Information

Established in 1927, Troop 2 is a Boy Scouts of America registered organization providing a program featuring the learning of Scouting and life-oriented skills by a group of youth that love to learn and have fun! The Troop is proud to be home to a growing "nest" of 128 Eagle Scouts. The Troop is sponsored by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church located in the town of Milford, MA.

The Troop scouting year runs from September through June each year. Meetings begin the first Thursday after Labor Day and traditionally end the second Thursday in June. The Troop meets every Thursday night while school is in session. Meetings are held at the Club Room in Milford Catholic Elementary school at 7 PM.

Each summer, the Troop attends Summer Camp during the third week of July at the E. Paul Robsham Jr. Scouting Reservation, affectionately known as Camp Resolute. Here the Scouts enjoy the week camping out every night, learning new Scout and life skills, and having fun with their Scouting brethren. It is here at Camp Resolute, where we have memorialized the legacy of former scoutmaster Roland "Papa Smurf" Rugoletti by erecting an new open air pavilion in his honor.

The Pavilion not only provides shelter for scouting activities, but  serve as a "signpost" for Scouts, Leaders and visitors alike, as well as provide lighting for the nearby volleyball/"Nuke'm" court where Scouts enjoy their afternoons playing with their friends. With this new pavilion, these fun activities and more can be provided not only in the daylight hours, but in the evenings as well.

In 2017, Troop 2 celebrated its 90 years of Scouting -- but the best is yet to come, for many future scouts.
